The Academic Freedom and Tenure Committee discussed the...Amicus Brief policy. A proposed BOG change that no University unit can file a friend of the court brief without approval of the OP. In discussion, some delegates asserted that this policy goes too far in squelching academic freedom. A motion [was made] to continue to take the position that this new policy is unnecessary and unwise. Seconded. Passed unanimously.
