Resolution to Require All Campuses of the University Of North Carolina
To Include a Prohibition Against Discrimination on the Basis of Sexual Orientation

WHEREAS, in its Resolution 92-5, the Faculty Assembly recommended to President Spangler that he encourage chancellors of those UNC campuses that had not yet amended their Equal Opportunity Policies to include a prohibition against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in educational and employment opportunities; and,

WHEREAS, five institutions have not yet amended their policies to include such a prohibition;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Faculty Assembly recommend to President Spangler that he require the chancellors of those five UNC campuses, as soon as possible, to include a prohibition against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in educational and employment opportunities in their Equal Opportunity Policies.
