Mr. Davies has served as the Chief of Staff for the University since 2006. In this role, he coordinates and oversees the administrative operations of General Administration . In addition, he helps the President and his leadership team establish University priorities, identify important issues confronting UNC, and develop policy recommendations and actions. Prior to assuming the responsibilities of the Chief of Staff position, he served as the Vice President for Finance for seven years.
Leslie BoneyMr. Boney's duties include serving as key staff support to the President on economic development issues, conducting research and analysis in the support of the university’s economic development strategy, and coordinating system-wide economic development initiatives with selected faculty and University personnel. As part of the work of UNC Tomorrow, he also works to get UNC more engaged with communities and constituencies throughout the state. He currently serves as Governor Perdue’s appointee to the Southern Growth Policies Board, and as the University’s representative on the N.C. Economic Development Board and the board of the NC Biotechnology Center.
Les DavidsonMr. Davidson manages a team of analysts providing support to the schools using Sungard's Banner system. This includes advising on functionality, troubleshooting problems and providing standardized solutions to common problems. The team also provides support to data cleansing efforts and advice on security with respect to the Banner system
Cathy Hanby-SikoraMs. Hanby-Sikora serves the University of North Carolina's 17 campuses by helping to build and strengthen relationships with friends and supporters that foster investment in the work of the University. She offers support, coordination, and capacity building services to the University's campus Advancement programs, and manage development for programmatic priorities of the President.
Brent Herron, CPPMr. Herron works with and provides guidance to UNC constituent institutions in the areas of campus safety/security, emergency management and continuity planning. He serves as a direct liaison between the UNC campuses and local, state, federal, and private agency counter-parts to enhance strategic planning both within the university system and with external agencies to better prepare and respond to critical incidents.
Gwen A CanadyMs. Canady manages the UNC Finance Improvement and Transformation (UNC FIT) Program. This program seeks to strengthen the control environment across all campuses and align UNC people, process and technology by implementing short-term process improvements and laying the groundwork for centralization of certain back office financial operations. Key focus areas are financial aid, contracts and grants, general accounting and financial reporting, data analysis and management and HR/payroll.
Jan KookMs. Kook is responsible for maintaining the Chief of Staff's calendar. She coordinates the scheduling of meetings, events, and travel for not only the Chief of Staff but also the other Vice Presidents and Associate Vice Presidents in the department.
