Contact Your Elected Officials

Elected officials want hear from their constituents on issues that matter most to them. The most effective method of communication is making a personal visit to the individual. Making a phone call is the second best tool for contacting your elected official. When you are unable to schedule an appointment or make a call, a personal letter ensures that your elected official is aware of your interest. And while email messages are easy and convenient, they are the least effective way to communicate with your officials. The tools and strategies below will get you started in your advocacy efforts. If you need additional assistance, please call the UNC Office of University Affairs at (919) 843-5365.
