Detailed statistical information concerning the success of students transferring from an institution in the NCCCS to any of the 16 institutions of the University of North Carolina
Explanatory Notes:
This report lists measures of academic performance during the first fall semester and the first academic year (fall and spring semesters) of students transferring from a NCCCS institution to an institution in the University of North Carolina. Within the reported period, this report includes NCCCS transfer students with any hours earned at any time at a NCCCS institution
  • Year (single): first fall semester and first year of attendance in a UNC institution
  • Year (multiple): aggregated reports of first fall semester and first full year of attendance in a UNC institution for multiple years of transfers. Example: 1991-95 data represent a compilation of the data for students transferring in fall semesters of 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995
  • Community college selection: any of the 58 NCCCS institutions or summary of all combined. The last NCCCS institution attended is the transfer institution of record
  • Fall Term Measures(earned at UNC institution in first fall semester of attendance):
  • Transfers’ Mean GPA: overall GPA at end of fall semester
  • Mean Letter Grade Hours Earned: mean number of hours earned in graded classes. With hours in ungraded classes, this sums to total hours earned
  • Mean Hours of "I," "W," "Pass/Fail": mean number of hours earned in non-graded classes. With hours in graded classes, this sums to total hours earned
  • Subject Areas (English, Math/Science, Social Science): number of students and mean GPA earned in specified subject area
  • End of Year Measures (earned at UNC institution in first academic year of attendance):
  • Transfers’ GPA: overall GPA at end of first year
  • Academic Standing: percent of students in categories as reported by UNC institution
