Detailed statistical information concerning the success of students transferring from an institution in the NCCCS to any of the 16 institutions of the University of North Carolina
Explanatory Notes:
This report lists the graduation, retention, and persistence rates of NCCCS students beginning one year after their transfer to a UNC institution and compares their rates to those of "native rising juniors" at the UNC institution. The report includes students entering a UNC institution any time during a calendar year
- "Year (of follow-up): data collected after the passage of the specified number of years following transfer to a UNC institution. Example: After Year 1* (1993-95)**
* data collected after one year of attendance following transfer to UNC institution
** aggregation of data for students transferring into a UNC institution during calendar years 1993, 1994, and 1995
- Retention: the number or percent of students found to be still enrolled at specified point in time
- Graduation: the number or percent of students found to have been awarded his/her first baccalaureate degree from a UNC institution
- Persistence: sum of graduation and retention data
- College Transfer Degree: the number or percent of students found to have been awarded a college transfer associate degree by a NCCCS institution within the two years prior to his/her transfer to a UNC institution
- Technical Degree: the number or percent of students found to have been awarded a technical associate degree by a NCCCS institution within the two years prior to his/her transfer to a UNC institution
- Associate Degree Total: sum of students awarded college transfer degree and students awarded technical degree
- Native Rising Junior: students who had entered a UNC institution as a new freshman and who had earned 55-70 hours of credit by the beginning of their quot;junior" year 2 to 3 years after the freshman year
- N: number of students in cohort being tracked in applicable cell
- %: percent of applicable cohorts meeting criteria specified in title, column, and row headings
