Academic degree program productivity review
In conjunction with the biennial revision of the Long-Range Planning document, Academic Planning coordinates the review of academic degree program productivity (number of program majors and graduates) and develops recommendations in collaboration with UNC constituent institutions on the continuance or discontinuance of identified low-enrolled programs.

Academic Planning provides to the Board of Governors and to the General Assembly an annual enrollment planning report that analyzes a number of enrollment trends for the UNC system and its constituent institutions.

Academic Planning coordinates the calendar and activities for the biennial revision of the Board of Governors' Long-Range Planning "for a coordinated system of higher education" (as stipulated by Section 203a of The Code of the UNC Board of Governors). Academic Planning also writes several major sections of the plan.
