 Academic Planning works with UNC constituent institutions and US military bases to extend higher education to military personnel stationed in North Carolina and to their dependents in the State. Legislation passed by the NC General Assembly in 2004 grants them in-state tuition.
- Relevant statute (including changes made to the previous military tuition statute)
- Academic Planning also works closely with the NC Troops to Teachers Program to help individuals transition from active military duty to the teaching profession
- Several campuses participate in the US Department of Defense's offering degree programs and courses to military personnel via the DANTES program
