Description
UNC Charlotte, North Carolina's urban research university, enrolls more than 26,000 students, including over 5,000 graduate students, and is the only doctoral-granting research institution in a vibrant region of 1.8 million. The University is a Carnegie Foundation Community Engagement campus and leverages its location in the state's largest city to offer internationally competitive programs of research and creative activity; exemplary undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs and a focused set of community engagement initiatives. Seven academic colleges (Arts + Architecture, Business, Computing and Informatics, Education, Engineering, Health and Human Services, and Liberal Arts & Sciences) and the Graduate School offer 80 bachelor's, 62 master's, and 20 doctoral programs. The University also offers a multidisciplinary Honors College and wide range of disciplinary honors programs. The 1,000-acre campus includes eight new academic buildings, a new 196,000-square-foot student union, a motorsports complex, new residence halls, and new recreational facilities, including a new football stadium, all completed within the last ten years; and a state-of the-art library. A new Center City campus offers classes for the MBA, other graduate, professional, and continuing education programs in Uptown Charlotte.
