Opportunities to Do Business with the Universities

Western Carolina University is soliciting Letters of Interest from firms to provide building commissioning services for the above referenced project. The Project is to fully renovate Brown Building built in 1960 that previously housed a cafeteria on WCU's upper campus. The project will include renovation of the existing 30,240 square feet two-story building and an addition of approximately 25,000 square feet to address additional program requirements. Programs to be housed in this facility when complete will be: Dining Services venues including multiple retail locations, Catering operations and storage, Residential Living administrative offices, and other Student Affairs-related offices, etc. The project will include site work to incorporate new site circulation paths, parking, and utilities-including a new energy plant to service this building and adjacent buildings. Total building square footage projection will be approximately 55,000 sq. ft. Estimated construction cost is $18,000,000. The Owner is seeking LEED Gold Certification. Commissioning Agent shall comply with LEED v4 prerequisites. WCU will request add alternates for enhanced commissioning Option 1 (Path 1 or 2) and Option 2. The project delivery method will be Construction Manager at Risk with full design documents to be developed by the design firm.
