Opportunities to Do Business with the Universities

Balfour Beatty is requesting for principal trade and specialty contractors to submit bids for the furnishing of labor, material, and equipment for the University of North Carolina Wilmington Housing Repairs & Renovations Phases 1. Balfour Beatty has been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for the project and will receive sealed bid proposals from pre-qualified bidders only, and will contract with the principal and specialty contractors for the execution of the work. The Housing Renovations Phase 1 consists of a nearly complete Mechanical demolition and replacement of HVAC equipment, piping, and controls for three dormitories (Belk, Graham, and Hewlett Halls). Each dormitory is four stories and is approximately 41,000 sq. ft. The project will require trade subcontractors for the following bid packages: General Trades/Demo/Arch. Finishes, Site Grading/Utilities/Fencing, Fire Protection, Mechanical, HVAC Controls, Electric, Plumbing, and Final Cleaning. Contractors interested in bidding are invited to attend a pre-bid meeting, which will be held for all interested bidders on 1/16/18 from 4:00-5:00PM at UNCW - 601 College Road at Madeline Suites located off 1015 Community Drive (for the front of the building, Wilmington, NC 28403. Parking will be available in the adjacent lot for the Wagner Hall Cafeteria. The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, bidding procedures and bid forms. Balfour Beatty has an affirmative policy of fostering, promoting and conducting business with Historically Underutilized Businesses. HUB contractors are highly encouraged to participate in the bid process. All Bidders are strongly encouraged to include opportunities for HUB participation wherever possible in their respective bid submission. Historically Underutilized Businesses is a part of this contract and must comply with the State of North Carolina General Statues. A HUB outreach meeting will be held at 5 pm on 1/16 at the same location following the pre-bid meeting.
