The proposed program's course requirements are identical to the existing, traditional B.A. in Philosophy. The intended audience includes undergraduate students at any level seeking to initiate or complete a B.A. in Philosophy, ranging from freshmen to degree-completion students. The intended audience further includes students seeking courses in Philosophy to fulfill general education requirements at other institutions. | |

Over the past decade, our substantial online course offerings have had a record of consistently high enrollments including on and off-campus students. The proposed program would be unique in North Carolina and would become just the third online Philosophy B.A. program nationally. The program would include courses taught by nationally and internationally recognized scholars in highly marketable areas such as logic, philosophy of religion, medical ethics, business ethics, social and political philosophy, environmental ethics, and computer ethics, and would eventually include a pre-law concentration. Additional resources will not be neeeded to start the online B.A. in Philosophy and expansion will proceed on a self-funding, enrollment-growth basis. | |
