Who We Serve
GEAR UP North Carolina serves students, parents, schools, and communities across the state. Listed below are statistical highlights of the program:
- Over 15,000 students in 20 school districts currently participate in GEAR UP North Carolina.
- Since September 1, 2005, 9,206 GEAR UP North Carolina students have received 363,925 hours of tutoring with each student receiving an average of 40 hours of tutoring.
- 90.5% of students in GEAR UP North Carolina middle schools plan to attend college.
- 88.3% of students in GEAR UP North Carolina high schools plan to attend college.
- 92.1% of 9th grade students in GEAR UP North Carolina high schools are currently registered for a college preparation course of study.
