The University of North Carolina and its constituent institutions are committed to increasing access to higher education in North Carolina.
The University-School Programs Division responds directly to UNC's strategic priority, addressing K-16 education in North Carolina.
UNC General Administration administers a U.S. Department of Education grant that supports access to higher education through GEAR UP North Carolina.
It also serves as the administrative agent for the Pathways program, a component of the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) partnership, and houses the departments of CFNC Technology & Internet Services and the CFNC Resource Center.
UNC General Administration also seeks to improve collaboration among many other pre-college access programs across the state via meetings, conferences, and dissemination of best practices.
