Hotels

There are three hotels that will offer special group rates to the participants of the 2017 UNC System Advancement Symposium. The room block will fill up quickly, please make hotel reservation at your earliest convenience. The hotel cost is not included in your conference registration fee. You are responsible for making your own hotel reservation. Approaching from the North on I-26/US 19/US 23

  1. Take Exit 25 (UNC Asheville/NC 251).
  2. Turn left at traffic light at bottom of ramp.
  3. Proceed approximately 0.5 miles to second traffic light; turn left onto W.T. Weaver Blvd.
  4. Proceed approximately 0.3 miles to the traffic circle.
  5. Take the second turn-off (University Heights) and pass between the two main entrance signs.
  6. The campus is both to the right and left at intersection at the top of the hill.
  7. Visitor information can be obtained at the Highsmith University Union (to the left, second building on the left)

Approaching from the East on I-40

  1. Take exit 53B onto I-240 W.
  2. Follow I-240 W for approximately 4.5 miles.
  3. Take Exit 4A onto I-26 W/US-19 N/US-23 N/US-70 W (UNC Asheville/Weaverville).
  4. Follow I-26 W for approximately 1.5 miles.
  5. Take Exit 25 (UNC Asheville/NC-251).
  6. Turn right at bottom of exit ramp onto Broadway.
  7. Proceed approximately 0.3 miles to second traffic light; turn left onto W.T. Weaver Blvd.
  8. Proceed approximately 0.3 miles to the traffic circle.
  9. Take the second turn-off (University Heights) and pass between the two main entrance signs.
  10. The campus is both to the right and left at intersection at the top of the hill.

Approaching from the West on I-40

  1. Take Exit 46B (left) onto I-240 E/I-26 W (Asheville).
  2. Follow I-240 E/I-26 W for approximately 3 miles.
  3. Take Exit 3B and as you cross the bridge over the river, move into the left-hand lane.
  4. Take Exit 4A (left) onto I-26 W/US-19 N/US-23 N/US-70 W (UNC Asheville/Weaverville).
  5. Follow I-26 W for approximately 1.5 miles.
  6. Take Exit 25 (UNC Asheville/NC-251).

Please feel free to browse through this list of nearby restaurants. You are not obligated to choose any of the suggested restaurants on the site. You are responsible for the cost of Tuesday (5/16) lunch and dinner as those meals are not included in your conference registration fee.

 

 

Parking

Each attendee is encouraged to carpool from their institution with their institutional colleagues.  This saves money, helps the environment, and makes for a great road trip.
